Family History

Unfortunately, the family history is largely hidden in the darkness yet. Here are some chapters of it, where is already more to tell:

• About the origin of the name and the family Verderber: The Verderber family seems to come from the Gottschee. But how did the family get there and where does the name come from?
• The Jewish branch of the family Verderber and the Third Reich: The Verderber family has a Jewish branch at least since the end of the 19^th century which to a great part was murdered during the Third Reich.
• The emigrants to America: Like a lot of Gottscheers, many Verderbers emigrated to America.
• Verderber in Croatia: In Croatia the Verderbers spread mainly under the names Ferderber and Ferderbar after the Turk wars.
